For those who reside in Iceland, they know to expect the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights to be visible anytime between September and May. However, due to a combination of high solar-particle activity and clear skies this past week on the 25th of September, the viewing conditions were unusually perfect. So perfect, that all lights in Central Reykjavik, Iceland, were ordered to be turned off for an hour.
